Community Service

KidsGiving

KidsGiving is an organization designed to teach students the importance of philanthropy through a partnership with local non-profit organizations. The goal is to work with many different types of non-profits so our children learn about the numerous and unique needs of our community, as well as the positive impact they can make.

As the focus of the PTA’s community service efforts, KidsGiving is also included in grade level service projects throughout the school year.  All students are encouraged to join KidsGiving and participate in monthly activities where KidsGiving highlights a local non-profit organization and at least three ways that students can participate:

  • Educational - a chance to learn about a non-profit, what it does, who it serves, and how it works
  • Volunteering - an opportunity for a hands-on activity to help others
  • Giving - the option to donate either directly or with in-kind gifts (e.g. books, coats, food)

Students who participate in at least three activities and make one personal donation will be recognized for their philanthropic efforts with a certificate and gift at the end of the year.
