Community Service

KidsGiving

KidsGiving is an organization designed to teach students the importance of philanthropy through a partnership with local non-profit organizations. The goal is to work with many different types of non-profits so our children learn about the numerous and unique needs of our community, as well as the positive impact they can make.

KidsGiving is a new program at Arlington Science Focus School for 2021-22. As the focus of the PTA’s community service efforts this year, KidsGiving will also be included in grade level service projects, where each grade will sponsor an organization each month.  All students are encouraged to join KidsGiving and participate in monthly activities where KidsGiving will highlight one local non-profit organization and three ways that students can participate:

  • Education: Learn more about how the organization helps our community.
  • Volunteering: Participate in a planned group event.
  • Giving: Make a personal donation of any size to the organization.
Students who participate in at least three activities and make one personal donation will be recognized for their philanthropic efforts with a certificate and gift at the end of the year.
